Does paypal pass information to the government?

Paypal recently limited access to my paypal and wants scan of ID, scan of bills and stuff...
It's needed for some new tax regulations, just like epassporte does too... Does paypal pass your transactions to your government? If they don't, why is this info needed then?
Could it be the start of a long-term plan on which all transactions via paypal are reported?

If governments can get to Swiss bank accounts, nothing is impossible anymore.

Paypal has a team of federal agents with a permanent office in their building, you bet your ass they do.

Paypal has always required this (well at least for a few years) for any account that processes > $3k per year (or thereabouts). The info that is transferred is basic banking like total in/out each tax year for person with name at said address.

If paypal ask for ID's then im going to dump them. Paypal are a good target for hackers to steal ID's. I dont care if its on a secure server, someone will get their hands on it.

Yes, trust a one-man show with Filipino support staff who doesn't even speak or understand English, over a multi-billion multinational corporation, excellent business decision.

                                Yes.

The Canada Revenue Agency has won the right to examine files of the auction site's so-called "power sellers" ? those Canadians who generate at least $1,000 US a month in billings from their online sales.

Paypal have failed on so many people, including me. Epassporte has NEVER failed me. Been with them for 5 years now. Had 7 accounts with Paypal. They do shit to take care of fraud. Even their phone support is pointless, I rang and talk to support they asked me if I put in a support ticket. All they could say is someone will answer you. No one did.

Also I do support and trust Epassporte, it's a good system that works. Specially for the adult industry and I support those who support me.

I know you have had problems with Epass, but that's not my concern.
