I ate at "Nobu" This weekend in NYC

I took a little trip to NYC this past week end and I ate at Nobu for the 1st time and I must say it was amazing.. the service was top notch! I am now craving it again. I then decided to have Mr.Chows the next day and I must say I was disappointed with the ambiance and meal compared to the one out in L.A I should have gone to Phillipe Chow instead

Montreal needs to get some of these restaurants so I don't have to go so far to eat!

We had one move into the Crown Casino here in Melb. AU ... had the pleasure a few times of eating there and never left unhappy

What do you guys get there that was really good? I always get sushi and haven't really been impressed yet. I don't really eat meat other than seafood so maybe that's why I'm missing out.

I had no meat at all!

The oysters were crazy, the crab and watermelon was insane, ..it was all good! all seafood.

I haven't tried either of these yet. I really dig crab w/ mango so I'm thinking I will probably get down on some crab w/ watermellon as well.

You must have ordered badly. My wife is Japanese so I had the advantage.

Where is better in your opinion? I'm headed back there next year probably.

Next time (if ever) you're in Sydney try Tetsuyas - you'll have to book a month ahead but it's worth it

Nobu is one of our best places here in NYC. But I suggest anyone who is into good food to check out the culinary explosion happening in Brooklyn next time they are in NYC. Basiclly all the top chefs from the big places in NYC have opened up their own smaller places in Brooklyn for a fraction of the price and 90% less rif-raf.

First time I experienced Nobu was in London in 05. Courtesy of Tory and Eric of Mac& Bumble. They had to pull some strings to get us in, the food was Great, that was the 1st place I had tempura asparagus. The bill wasnt too shabby eighter, close to 1k for the 4 of us Then they told me to stop taking pics

Yeah, I picked up the bill but it wasn't too bad! I had left over sushi that I gave to a bum outside, but I kept the Gold Nobu doggybag they gave me. The bum then asked me if I had the soya sauce and chopsticks to go with!!!
