I asked a couple of processors that very question in Florida, since they see the back end of the transactions and would know better what is
actually true about this industry, and claims. Here is there responses.
1. The only whales sending 100-200 joins a day are
mailers. A lot via Yahoo.
2. A whale, in 2009 terms, sends 2-20 joins a day. If you can
consistently do that. You are a whale in 2009.
3. If cross sales were eliminated tomorrow. 50-75% of the programs would close. They stay alive on cross sales, and some up sells.
So there you have it.
