    newbie with AWE

    I tried AWE's support, and was disapointed.

    so..my questions are both about AWE, and the industry also.

    I'm a complete newbie at this. I'm a computer tech that knows computers and programming and I'm just trying to get going.

    So, is there a complete newbie's guide around?

    AWE specific Q's:
    promo tools
    - how do I start making a bit of cash right now!
    - REVS or PPS, why do I care?
    - co-branded - do I setup the page on my hosting or use your and just direct my URL at there's?
    - what's best / easiest / fastest to get running using the promo tools.

    - I have my own hosting and domains and want to setup a bunch more. What's the rules / recommendations. Can I have a site with more then one affiliates pictures on it? Do they care?
    - I want my own site, on my own hosting, and want to use their pics / cams with ones from other sites as well. I want to setup a database full of information which is searchable to my browsers. Do I need the pics/cam links or pics, and cam link codes and some text about everything else which I will make searchable.

    - is there a detailed guide for the promo tools, ie banners, co-branded, console ads, which will explain what each one is inteneded for?

    General:
    is there any automated tools for downloading from the affiliates to you own hosting so you can have your own mixed galleries? I also want to pull some text info about the pages if I can at the same time.

    I've had a few questions on here before, and I've been searching through the archives, so I know the general themes are:
    - go with a niche. (I got www dot greatbigfatfucker dot com) niche enough?
    - and no, I'm not looking to just do the fringe stuff.
    - I'd like to have 10 or so sites up and running within 4-6 weeks
    - each having it's own niche. (cams, fem-fem etc)
    - get a good looking design
    - start small and don't over-leverage yourself, keep expectations reasonable.
    - use the traffic tools
    - get setup with other sites for hard linking

    So I started with signing up with AWE, at the advice of u-Bob I think, but don't know how to proeceed.

    Any advice would be much appreciated.

              Hello Mark,

              Glad to see youve decided to join us, i see you have a lot of questions, we do have our own forum and the people there are pretty helpful. Give it a shot, ill make sure your questions are answered.

              as for general newbie webmaster info, there are a lot of great resources out there like netpond, cozyfrog,etc. (google them). those should get you started.
