    Czek Republic vs Canada

    In honor of this game, I am now drinking a nice homemade apple-vodka sparkling cooler I just concocted. Yum.

    By the way, is the Czek Republic still known as "Magyar"? I used to collect stamps, and all the Czekoslovakian issues had Magyar Posta on them. Just wondering.

                                                                                                              Well I was close, I said 4-3 for Canada, and it damn near came to that a few times in the final minutes, but it could have gone the other way as well.

                                                                                                              That was a fucking good hockey game. If that had been the gold medal game it couldn't have been any better. I sort of wish Canada had laid some better hits on the Czeks in the corners sometimes, and that bonehead Pronger with his boneheaded giveaways was making me go mental.

                                                                                                              Canada Vs Finland will be another good game.

                                                                                                              QUESTION: How come 40 years ago when countries like Sweden, Finland, Russia and Czekoslovakia took up playing hockey, well, why didn't Great Britain do the same? What was it about all those other European countries that made the CANADIAN sport of hockey so appealing, but not the Brits? Also, seeing as how Iceland is in a rather cold climate, how come there are little or no athletes competing in the winter olympics from that country? Why no hockey in Iceland???? I'm totall befuddled by this.

                                                                                                                                                      Honestly, one of my daydreams is to get Labret on the ice, just me and him. He'd be like bambi stumbling all over the place, he'd swing his stick in frustration, I'd duck under it and take him out with a hip-check, whereupon he'd fall into pile of equipment, his helmet turned sideways, and I'd score repeatedly.

                                                                                                                                                      Funny thing is, if he were to put the skates on and actually meet me on the ice, this dream would come true over and over and over and over. Fans would cheer as Lab Rat's face was pressed into the glass, they would roar as Rat's ass hit the ice after getting stood up at the red line (and dropped on his ass), and they'd worship me as god as Rat was pounded to a pulp whenever he dared to drop the gloves with me.

Canada is better than Czech.. Czech has better goaltending with Hasek, but that's it. Canada outshot Czech like 35-22 or something like that. Just look at the rosters..

                                                                                                                                                                          Team Canada didn't play that well vs Sweden and Germany because this team is just learning how to play with eachother. They had a 2 day practice session like 4 or 5 months ago, then only one practice before the first game.. they're just starting to play well together, as most people saw tonight when they were the far superior team. Hasek was the only reason Czech was in the game.
