Original: Tweet - Oops, Oh My - #1 R&B song, #7 Billboard Hot 100 hit
Remake: Ladytron - Oops, Oh My - PUNK remake extra on a compilation album they made (and Ladytron does techno/Depeche Mode type goth stuff, not punk). Relatively unknown gem from a hugely underrated group.
Makes the original sound like more of a punchless annoying piece of shit song than it already was.
I think you're letting your personal love for the band A PERFECT CIRCLE get in the way of any rational thinking. It's pretty obvious your a fan with all your examples. IMAGINE is not a song that any artist can improve on. It is like trying to improve upon Beethoven's '5th Symphony'. IMAGINE is really in a class all its own. A song beloved by millions of billions of people around the world.
I do think that songs can be bettered, though. The Nirvana 'Lake Of Fire' above is a great example. The Beatles bettered The Isley Brothers' 'Twist and Shout' and I personally think John Mellencamp bettered Van Morrison's 'Wild Night.'
One less god!!!
I contend that we are both an atheist. I just belive in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.
