They changed it when they figured out that people are retards and will pay for mp3s. I have about 20 GB of music and Ive paid $0 per song. It wasnt worth it at .99 either.Comment

The music industry was pressuring them to do it. People download the few hit songs off an album instead of buying the whole album. This raise helps to make up for that.Comment

the prices didnt go up, they had some system problems and it was loading other countries stores. just go to the itunes store, scroll to the bottom and set your shit back to the proper country. it's still 99 cents in the USComment

Go to the main page of the iTunes store, scroll down to the bottom and make sure you have USA selected as your country. The price you're seeing is for Australian iTunes.
That's my point. Why bother paying a site to steal for you when you can do it yourself.
