    Thats some crazy shit.. gotta kinda feel bad for everyone involved here..

    The guy threatned to shoot the cops and the cop dog if they tried to get him so i can understand the cops being worried and perhaps jumping the gun a bit, then again he didnt point anything at them and it ended up not being a gun..

    I like how at the end the cops are searching for a gun and when they realise he didnt have a gun he says " stop taping " lol too late..

                                  Which is why he specifically said sniper so that the target in question will not / can not have a shot at the shooter of the tranq gun. But yeah in a hostage situation it would be pretty daring as he would have plenty of time to kill hostages if he wished.

                                                  Shit - speechless watching an upset idiot claiming to have a gun and wanting to see *somebody* - poss his g/f and baby and a load of cops with two yapping dogs and shouting verbal and upping the anti when he threatens to shoot the dog/s.

                                                  Presumably the folks on the ground would know far better than anyone would simply from viewing that video, - but that looks like one massive utter fuckup all round - including the activity after the shooting.

                                                  Unfuckingbelievable - and something I'm 100% sure a couple of law friends would cringe watching - if only for it's sheer amateurish.

                                                          Its a great thought, but, take into consideration. First off, the tranq, like the tazer could kill him. if he is on drugs, or is just allergic. Then they consider the cost of the training to have an officer that is a sniper, on each shift, and available in the city. the cost of the weapon, and the tranq it's self. Then they think about the cost of 81 rounds.

                                                          You see the outcome.

                                                          And they shot, because they had "REASON TO BELIEVRE" based on his statments that are on tape, that he has a 13 shot weapon. And that he WOULD shoot a cop.

                                                                  Now I know why the get experienced people to track down and bring possible armed perps in when they skip jails. Rarely are any shot.

                                                                  One govt officer had five on a list to track down for "collection". Saw their rap sheets - serious offenses ranging from murders to armed assaults on officers in the past. Four were back in custody within .. think about 11 days of tracking em down. The fifth was detained meantime by others before she had the time to get to him. Only "injury" was a minor knife cut incurred while one recovered too early from his initial "put down".

                                                                  The difference in comparison to that tape is amazing and has more to do with "people management" than much else.

                                                                          It's not fair to anticipate what others would do nico cos I just ain't qualified to say - but can very easily read what other folks (in law) would do. There would be no dogs. There would be a lot of what has been described as "hard listening" and "calmness". There would be no threats and no reason given for the target to threaten. Dunno.. there may be "firmness" at times, but calmly - and more often than not, the target will be pleased to give up and (almost funny) - have someone to talk to cos basically that's where they are coming from.

                                                                                      I'm from Cincinnati. Last I checked we had the higest number of white cops killing unarmed black men in the entire country. Not sure if we stll hold that title as of today but our cops are trigger happy and shoot anything, including black men in the back as the run with no weapon.

                                                                                                          i agree that its a little odd in the US that deadly force is usually the first and only option. from one side i think its perfectly justifiable to use lethal force when someone is threatening to kill cops... from another side, i think a civil society should always be searching for alternative means and this country more than most, has access to those alternative means.

                                                                                                                      Sure... Different scenario to the "domestic" in the vid Antonio. Folks embarking on violent assaults and killing sprees are gonna have to be firmly "downed" in whatever the best way possible with minimum risk to others - including officers.

                                                                                                                      The most recent (tho was 12-18 months ago now) of anything similar was an govt officer who was sprayed with auto fire along a highway. They never knew she was a govt officer but some folks thought it better this person was dead. She drove off as fast as possible and into a mall and headed to the rear (loading bay area) of the mall ahead of the pursuing vehicle to get as far as possible away from the public - then took up position behind a solid brick wall and ready for their arrival. Both got out of their car which left em in the open and one was shot in the leg (deliberately) and the other gave up else he would have little chance. The car had.. think 71 rounds fired into it - the nearest was a bullet lodged in the headrest area - amazing it was not fatal.
                                                                                                                      That cool girl got on the phone as soon as she got home and started talking about her cat. I knew she had "switched off" from an "incident" before she got round to talking about it

                                                                                                                      But agree - there are plenty violent people out there and they really need "subdued" in whatever way possible.

That guy said many times on the video he had a gun and was going to shoot. I think the adrenalin is high and it triggers a response in that situation. If they didnt shoot him and he killed a few cops. Would anyone be calling for his head. I feel worse for the dog, a loyal partner and was gunned down.

If you listen you can hear one cops saying that only 1-2 of them were to shoot and who else opened fire .. seemed that they got a bit excited .
                                                                                                                                                                                  maybe the sound synch was off but it appeared they all opened fire before he moved his hands , when they started firing he tossed the flipflop away

Google the dipshit's name. The shots came from 3 officers AR-15 rifles which can be fully automatic. 80+ shots were fired, 22 hit the flip-flop wielding thug.
