Models signing Waivers - Solicitor calling me at 3am today

Nice wake up call this morning, as if I'd answer it. Damn lawyer from Canada (I'm other side of the world) phoning me up at 3am wanting to discuss some "problematic domains".

Turns out a model featured on one of my sites has kicked up some fuss saying she didn't sign anything allowing me to use her photosets on my site and that I should remove them immediately.

WTF - I am promoting one of the largest adult affiliate programs on the web, using their provided content, and surely she must have signed something saying that both they, and all their affiliates can use this content as they see fit - that's what the tart is paid $7000 for a weekend's shoot for FFS.

More or less told them to go fuck themselves. Assholes

On the other hand, you have to be careful with lawyers

My question is aren't the sponsors supposed to make sure this shit never happens? It's their content we're meant to use to promote their sites right? Otherwise it defeats the purpose of them giving us promotional content

Never had this sort of cack happen in 6 years, geez - odd that it's the same 2 sites that someone reported to ICAAN a while ago trying to get them shut down - that little cunningstunt didn't work either

Come on fellas, as if I'd diss a sponsor who's made me enough to pay off my house over the years.

It's not a sponsor bashing thread, I was just interested to know why a model would be doing this - she would definitely have been paid, and the rest should be in the legal contract she signed. Anyone got a typical waiver form lying around - like to look one over for a laugh.

On the other hand, you have to be careful with lawyers

Any lawyer expecting to speak to anyone at 3 am in the morning has a problem - he's nuts (a few of them are) and playing probing games.

You are obliged to comply with the laws of your own country - not those of Canada or any other nation.

Anything that needs to be said - he can put in writing and possibly get a response at a time convenient to you.

Don't think you will be awake then or feel like talking??

I would send the sponser a message and see what they have to say. Most people are not dumb enough to put sets online without a release. Probably some chick that retired from modeling and wants her pics off the internet.

Yeah I sent them a mail first up advising this is going on.

He must have known from the whois data that I'm in Sydney for fucks sake. Or he just has a huge list of phone numbers in front of him and ploughing through it without a thought.

My guess is, seeing in the title of his email he got my domain names both slightly wrong, he's contacting everyone who's using that particular gallery and pics - candy_dumb_fuckin_bitch.jpg - he got the images via google images gallery.

Probably is her new hubby and wants as few people as possible to see his new wife sucking cock

I have self-respect!! And I agree that it probably was not a real lawyer -- just a friend posing as one. A real lawyer would not make an international phone call without at least an email or nasty-gram letter for an opener.

A few things that might come in use.

These are not 100% hard facts, just a few things I've learned over the years.

A) Lawyers do not phone, they write letters and have them delivered by registered post.

B) If you are in a different country they will know they will have to sue you in a local court. Needs a local lawyer.

C) Lawyers do nothing for free, they charge by the hour or take very winnable cases against rich people on a share of the win.

D) Most models can hardly afford to get a lawyer to see them, let alone handle a case for them on a wing and a prayer.

E) Boyfriends can say what they like on the phone....................
