The Broadband Household Penetration Rankings for Turkey is close to 38%, and there is 75 million people in Turkey. Anyone blocking surfers based on nationality is simply a poor webmaster who cant convert/funnel his traffic.

Don't block it, just redirect it to someone else's site who can process the hits. Even at a fraction of a cent it adds up over time as opposed to sending the hits to nowhere.

That .htacess will add significant load if it gets a lot of traffic, so put it as deep in
the directory structure as possible. For example, if the action goes to this URL:
/tour/comments/script/submitcomment.php

Then put the .htaccess in /tour/comments/script/ to avoid extra load caused
by processing it on other pages.

The religion says it's not allowable, but the people say other wise. I wouldn't start by saying you are foolish, or dumb by blocking out the country. Just misinformed on how to deal with it. Many here have given good advice on what to do with the traffic, not to mention localizing it, or pointing it some place that does it for you.

I didn't want to start any hater debate or something, but here are the facts:

1. I get a lot of comments in Turkish language from people daily. Most of them include email, probably they want me to send them images or something. I need to delete them and it's pain in the ass
2. I checked my stats, not a single Turk every bought anything
3. I don't want to look like I have shitty traffic

And yes, I have been to Turky before. Sorry for assuming that porn is not legal there, I recently returned from UAE and everything is blocked there, so I thought something similar is in Turky.

1. yea i won't say You are not right on that one, this is classical uneducated surfer attitude, You can see world wide and they think any women out there waiting her legs opened for them.

2. a specially what i have seen from last 8 years there is huge increase for credit card using rates, 7-8 out of 10 people have credit cards, but still English speaking rate is lacking, that might be one of the main problems for English marketing.

3. about legality, there is something like that on the paper, but no one gives a fuck really.

My opinion is based of what i m seeing, a Turk most likely can sell something to an other Turk then a foreigner can, because of the language Barier and stuff like that.

on the other hand what i m seeing is, some people are buying online game and tunnel/proxy/vpn memberships.

4. why would people care what kind of traffic You have unless You don't send it to trades and can monetize it?
