7 boxes and a local server - and a laptop, tho rarely use it (hate the damned things). Gimme a box and basic tools and I'm happy - the rest is shit for others to fuck up and some spare for processing/scripts/backups.

computers never die. they become servers and data storage.

Well as long as the topic is alive again...

Not including servers or render boxes, I have 2 workstations that I use everyday as well as my personal system (all of which keep my office at a constant temperature of just under "hot as hell"
