a few years ago when i'd go out alot my personal cab driver swore by the 5 hour energy but i told him i like my red bull too much. I saw at the gas station the other day that red bull has one of these types of things now
I found mixing them with a couple of double espresso's and some redbulls works out well, if I need some extra energy I'll drink a couple of the Starbucks ice coffees too

have you tried the Starbucks doubleshot coffee and energy in a can? I've been drinking them a lot and the taste really good. I get the mocha.
Never heard of it but it seems too new to experiment with. I'll stick to coffee or espresso for a pick me up.

Yeah, the article on CNN mentioned reactions to B3 is to turn flush red but it only lasts 30 minutes. Yeah, that's comforting. lol

5 hour energy is the only one of them I like, you have to slam it because it tastes like shit but Craig Tant turned me onto them and I never looked back
I might try it for the first time soon for my drive from ny to florida... Will it give a fat guy a heart attack?

Yeah, I picked up one of the Red Bull version of it yesterday, but I wasn't tired last night, so I didn't try it. I drink Red Bull often, so I figured if I was gonna try one, I should stick with the Red Bull version. Anyone else try the Red Bull version yet ?
I used to drink them, buy them in the 6 packs and drink 1 a day before I started work, it usually let me crank out some stuff and be focused for about 4 hours, but after that I got lazy again... Did it for 2 or 3 months, and got thinking it was probably bad, so I quit it and now I'm trying to get my energy by dropping all sugar drinks and other stuff and trying to drink just water... So far the energy I get from being hydrated and drinking water lasts longer than anything else, like 5hr Energy, Coffee, or Red Bull.

Bullshit!
Water is far less optimal than any drink, it's easy and fast to see the difference.
Try day 1 to drink 1 gallon of water
Try day 2 to drink 1 gallon of red bull
Try day 3 to drink 1 gallon of 5 hour energy.
Then compare the result, if you compare things you need to compare them by the same volumes, it's unfair to compare 1 gallon water with 20 ML of 5 hour energy or 330 CL of red Bull
I drink one a day. They are great! Don't make you tired and don't have 8 pounds of sugar in them!

Lol, so you're saying my experience of being hydrated and drinking water, gives me better energy than taking any energy drinks, is bullshit? Hey, whatever if you feel that drinking all that helps so be it, but not everyone is the same, water works fine for me.

I'd like to see a cost/benefits analysis on the above.
I just got them at Costco for the first time a couple weeks ago and I think it was less than $40, so close to $1.50. Better than buying them individually at $3 per, yikes!
So far I like them - I've had about 4 or 5 other brands of these "shots" and as bad as some people seem to think this tastes, I find it tastes better than most of the others (Monster's is probably the best tasting IIRC). Energywise it does seem decent. I used to have the sugar free Rockstar's and honestly I like these better for energy (but admit it seems weird to pay more for 2 oz bottles than 16 oz cans, lol).
