I feel you BVF.. A lot guys enjoy fantasy. Collecting photos helps them create a fantasy about the girl in the picture. Sometimes that fantasy lasts longer for them than watching a girl in a movie playing a role that may not completely fit their fantasy.

I have been doing phone sex for the last 5 years and people in other aspects of the adult community are surprised that guys still call phone sex lines when they can watch a cam girl and get the visual and voice... but a lot of my customers, mostly older guys do not want to watch a girl play with herself on cam because it limits their fantasy. I have a few pics of up a content girl and being just on the phone and hearing a voice we can role play and in their mind they create the visual for themselves.

Of course this doesn't include the members who like pictures along with the videos...

So think of yourself as an artist and your content as art.....If people in this world can make a living throwing paint on a canvas, calling it art, and having people buy it for a ridiculous sum of money, then we as pornographers should be making a living with our "art" also.

I do VOD sites and one of the things I have been telling clients is to provide better quality user experience....which means better quality encodes, use of a CDN to deliver the content etc so the user is willing to pay 5 - 10 cents a min insted of watching it on Tube.

couldn't agree more. A photo captures the essence of "that" moment, while a video keeps going frame by frame.. not that videos aren't cool but photos are more important to me.

That's why chosing the right PIC can boost or kill conversions on all sites IMO.
Good text with a pic is 2nd but equally important.

They also can't get live webcam, personal interaction, 1 on 1 attention from an illegal tube site, which is why my members keep on comin back
