The easiest way to clean one is spray it with Fantastic and scrub with a old toothbrush and blow with compressed air..comes out like newComment

i actually tried to clean mine the other day, and figured, fuck it, keyboards arnt very expensive (unless you buy an expensive one), and i went out and got a new one, much less timeComment

i usualy buy a new keyboard every two or three months.. so i actually never clean it... i just replace it...Comment

i havent since i bought it in 1998
there is about a 1/5 - 1/4 inch matt of hair and stuff below the keys.
keys i don't use have a thick, rough coat on them.Comment

buying a new keyboard every two months is a waste of money IMO...
but since you people are doing it every two months, I guess I can buy a new one after 3 years

Between 2 and 4 weeks. And I use the compressor in my workshop to do it. I also take my tower case out there and get the dust out at the same time.
Clean computers last longer and perform better. I remember having problems with old Pentiums in an office I worked in because they were all loaded with dust. I took them down to the parking garage where the guy had his auto detail shop to use his compressor and one by one cleaned them up. Its amazing how much heat is held in a computer by dust and dirt.
