Here is the paradox: if you are as smart as you apparently believe, you would have realized from the start that you weren't going to be very convincing in the role of someone merely attempting to bring balance to the discussion.
Which presents a few possibilities. Maybe you really aren't that smart. Perhaps you have a vested interest you haven't declared. Or maybe you have made a poor choice of topic in which, unconvincingly, to play the devil's disciple.
And if that summary is unfair, blame yourself. You have spent the past couple of weeks attempting to poke holes in other peoples' posts so as to whitewash Lar's (and only Lar's) role in this issue. Not once that I recall, have you attempted to explain why you hold a contrary "opinion".
I doubt the explanation is complicated at all and you are certainly wasting your time continuing to post, unless you at least attempt to offer it.Comment

You can't help yourself. Nowhere did I so much as hint that you couldn't hold whatever opinion you wanted.
The obvious implication from the existence of this thread is that you have lost whatever credibility you may have started with. If that doesn't bother you, fine. If it does, then attempting to explain your reasoning, complex or not, would be in your own interest. End of story.
I have dabbled in politics for around 40 years, so I know what spin can achieve. But I also know its limitations, the chief of which is that if spin is all you offer, it isn't long before no-one will believe anything you say. In any debate it is important to play down opposing points of view, but you also have to offer an alternative.Comment
