I can relate. I was in a huge multi-level bar in Winnipeg back in the early 90's when a gang-related shootout happened. Half a dozen people were injured by flying lead but I thought at first that it was just some idiot lighting off firecrackers. Everyone was ducking under tables and I just stood there, but because I did so I was able to see one of the shooters run through the bar and exit out a back door.

The next day I went to work at my old hospital job and the other shooter was in the O.R., with a police detail posted right outside.

Too bad the cell phone w/digital camera wasn't invented back then. I'd have had a field day.

When I bounced at a club, some guy started shooting a .22 pistol on our patio towards the alley(??? there was a privacy fence between him and the alley, but I digress..) and I had to disarm him and await the cops. Cops came back and told us he tested positive for PCP.

He was seriously shooting at nothing but a wooden fence, ha.

In Baltimore, where I used to live, you NEVER cooperate with the police. Ever. You see nothing, ever. Witnesses are always dying off. Most orders are issued from jail, so having somebody locked up sure as hell doesn't protect you.

By the sounds of it, the kid survived. The guy taking photos probably wouldn't have if he was discovered.
