Summer, 3rd quarter 2008, was amazing for me. Most I've made in a long time. Though a lot of sponsors had insane PPS promos around this time last year.
This year is much slower but I'm about even with last year. 3Q is starting out about even but I fear Aug and Sep will not match last years income. We will see..
However, to answer your question its because people are out and about. Family, travelling. They aren't stuck in the house like during Winter.Comment

Right ... there's always a demand
Only thing i notice on localized sites ... e.g. i have some sites specialized on the german market ... when i see the weather report and it's going to be good weather the next day it's usually a slow day, but e.g. last 2 days the weather was terrible over here and i had great sales from these sites - but even on good weather days there's a lot of sales going in the evening/night, it's just slow from morning to afternoon/early evening. On week/month averages there's nothing like a "summer slowdown"Comment

I used to think the summer slow down was a myth. As the years went on I don't feel that way anymore. I have seen the same slow down in summer for the past 10 years.
Now its important to note that I target US/Canada traffic so I feel that makes a big difference. Those running more globally might not feel it as much.Living in Virtual Reality
