    Free to air satellite tv

    I am considering purchasing one of these new free to air or fta receivers that I've been hearing about from some friends. It seems they are cardless and get free unrestricted dish tv just like I had back in the day. The site that I found that shows info on this is the following link:

    Anyone else have experience with fta sat television? Please let me know and if possible which receiver brand I should buy?

              Not surprisngly, I found AFF on that site, discussing hacking and "borrowing" of signals.

              Another satisfied AFF webmaster!

                  Dish has been cracking down on FTA units recently over the last couple of months. There are currently fixes but as soon as a new map rom code is cent down the stream you are going to be without the Dish portion of FTA for weeks to months. The 'safest' form of testing will always be plastic, it seems to have the best track history thus far.

                      FTA Satellite is best for International programming, particularly foreign language channels. If your 'home country' is on it, it's worth the $500 or so for the system.

                          foreign language, religeous and some live sports feeds is about all its good for..fun to play with though trying so see what you can pick up. You will need a bigger movable dish for best results check this site

                                              Plastic isn't going anywhere soon, at least not the N2/yellow cards. Until Dish decides to do another card upgrade with new security measures at least (and it’ll be a while, sending out new cards to millions of customers is a lengthy and very expensive process). Plastic has been the most reliable form of testing that I know of though it takes a lot more time and patience to get working. FTA and other forms of emulation are for those who want a quick fix but they are the ones that get bit in the ass with months of downtime and having to buy new hardware.

                                              Things have come along way since the old AVR days that's for sure.

                                                  Best FTA receiver, in my opinion, is the Sonicview , followed by the viewsat...

                                                  I have some pansat and one dreambox, but I still prefer the Sonicview...
                                                  I know that Asspimple is stoopid ... As he says, it is a FACT !

                                                  But I can't figure out how he can breathe or type , at the same time ....

                                                                      I have to say that this fta stuff is pretty cool. i picked up one of those sonicview receivers from a local dealer in my city and i went to eurofta.com
                                                                      again and used a guide from there and their files and it worked right away. it gets all the dishnet channels... i recommend it to anyone that wants to get all the ppv and porn free
