I can relate. I was in a huge multi-level bar in Winnipeg back in the early 90's when a gang-related shootout happened. Half a dozen people were injured by flying lead but I thought at first that it was just some idiot lighting off firecrackers. Everyone was ducking under tables and I just stood there, but because I did so I was able to see one of the shooters run through the bar and exit out a back door.

The next day I went to work at my old hospital job and the other shooter was in the O.R., with a police detail posted right outside.

Too bad the cell phone w/digital camera wasn't invented back then. I'd have had a field day.
