I don't know if there's a plugin for it, however you can do it by customizing your theme using any kind of JQuery or Prototype slider that includes your latest post or most popular or whatever. Not hard to do it, but tricky for those not in the know
On a side note I'm building a custom theme/CMS that includes that exact feature, so if my client has no problem I can show it once I finish it, prolly in the next 2/3 days
