    Any Netbook Recommendations?

I was thinking about picking up one of those Acer SSD notebooks to haul around when I'm out. Anyone have a brand or model they would recommend?

Mostly for surfing, email & some light video conferencing.

I just picked up a 13" Mac. I want something lighter and smaller.

Good friend of mine just snagged a 9inch Asus eee900. It weighs something like, 1.5lbs. Super light weight, hearty, great ven has a builtin webcam (decent enough) It runs on linux. She takes it with her everywhere. Fits in her purse. Long battery life- shes getting between 7-10hours with it.

Check out the MSI Wind, or Dell mini10. Both share similar features and are easy OSX hackintoshs.

If you've got a Mac and like OSX, grab a Dell Mini 9 (not 10) or Vostro (business model).

They're really easy to install OSX on. Mine both run full versions of 10.5.7 that get full updates from Apple.

Check this site out for lots of info:

                http://mydellmini.com

The Dell Mini 10 is NOT ABLE TO INSTALL OSX! They have a model called the 10v which is the guts of the 9 in a larger case with a normal HDD, but the reviews haven't been to favorable.

                    I own this one http://www.memorylabs.net/aseeepceepew.html

I put an Nlite version of Windows XP on it and I boot a linux distro from the sd card.

For $109 it's just for keeping in the car.

i love my new Asus N10J - it's a little fucker to setup if you use XP when it comes to drivers and stuff, but it's really cool, 2 video cards on the machine (unbeatable), a geforce if you need power (256 mb) and the classic intel card if you need batteries. this little toy does up to 5.30h on battery with the intel graphics card on average usage, web browsing, some movies....good machine but a bit pricey. 320 gb hdd and 2gb ram...depends what you need it for. display is great too.

Macbook Air with ssd.. super fast for everything except encoding videos and that type of stuff.. starts up in 10 seconds, light weight, great for on the sofa or in bed.
