They actually sell a good number of them here and they are nice little cars.

I watched a video of them crashing one at 60 mph into a concrete wall and it stood up pretty damn well. At least in a head on.

hehe, I'd drive one back and forth. But I'd always feel like I needed to chain it up like a bicycle. Seems like a few muscled kids could make off with it otherwise, doesnt it?

They have small cars like that all over the place in Europe. We used to tip my one friend's car on its side as a prank in high school. It was an old piece of shit, so it didn't really matter but he'd still be pissed when he had to find another way to get to school.

I saw that, too - and they could still open the doors on it.

Basically its a rollcage with plastic body panels.

We looked briefly at buying one recently just for runnin' around town with - but opted for a new 2010 Kia Forte instead (for the wife).

Interesting, I've never seen a crash test of that kind before. Pretty scary to see how the smaller car cops the brunt of the force - there's little point the structure remaining intact if the occupant's brain gets pureed...

Here's another vid that shows what happens when a tiny car hits a larger one. The merc continues moving forward and hardly deviates from its course; the smart car gets pushed backwards and rolls.
