Canadian politicians just as stupid as US ones

Yeah.. our idiots are threatening to hold up any biz in the house until one of the majority part members appologizes to his ex for calling her a dog. WTF!!!! And these idiots are supposed to be running our country???

I'm an equal oppurtunity "idiot" basher. So don't bitch about it when I bash the US ones.

            You have it wrong...

Canadian CONSERVATIVE politicians are as stupid as American CONSERVATIVE politicians.

The conservatives have proven themselves in a very short time to be completely out of touch with most of Canada, incapable of forumlating policy or taking decisions that benefit anyone except their very small conservative western base.

Their support in Quebec is down around 15% now... sinking quickly. The good ship Harper has sprung a leak, and will sink soon enough...

What does any of that have to do with this issue? It's the NDP and Liberals that are talking about holding up governance in this country because of a stupid personal issue. It's unacceptable and before you jump into assuming I'm a Harper fan, I "typically" hold my nose and vote Liberal.

Of course our politicians are idiots and morons,
No one country has a monopoly on politicians that are idiots and morons.
                  They all have them!
I think it is a requirement in order to be elected.

DjSap, it all comes down to seats and population. Quebec and Ontario hold the most seats. If you cannot get members elected in those two provinces, you will never have a majority government. So what Quebecers think (we ain't all french, get over it!) is important in regards to getting and retaining power.

Tempest, the actions by the member of conservative party (and who was nearly their leader) shows the same total lack of respect for their opponents that most republic types seem to pull off in the US. It is very, very appropriate for the members of the house to refuse to move forward with any support for the government when people like that are part of the game.

He really should resign, but you know he won't.

As soon as Harper took sides with Israel during the summer war I knew his days were numbered. He shot himself in the foot with that stunt. Sounding like Bush. Truth be told most Canadians lean more towards being Pro Palestinian. Even though most wont admit it because they're worried about offending someone.

The reason the conservatives are currently the majority is because the Liberals proved that they are no better with their corruption etc., just as the republicans in the US are majorly corrupt.

We're all smart enough to know that almost ALL members are going to be saying "disrespectful" things behind closed doors or in the privacy of their own homes etc.. We do it. They do it.. I don't believe in holding them to some higher standard then the general public exhibits. This is a stupid issue that has no place in the house and just makes the minority parties look ridiculous.
