What are some good ways to build traffic for a bran new tgp/mgp?

Well you could try to buy some traffic to speed things up. Traffic holder would be my choice for that.

That's right. Create a bunch of traffic links with some other sites, and when that's done buy 10k - 20k from trafficholder and there you go! The other sites which you linked will send you traffic back, and a few days later you buy again some traffic. That should be enough to start

If you really can't or don't wan't to spend any money to start with, you could probably get a small amount of traffic by posting your site on link dumps. There are a few around, but don't expect thousands of hits a day from this.

Well, I am new to the whole scene and just wanted to get my foot in the door. I just assumed I would get the traffic thing figured out after I got the tgp thing figured out.

Then get submitting galleries - see how the tgps work, add your own recip get people coming to a hub of your FHGs so you've got some initial traffic to play with, then go for the submitters!

Add a trade script, fill the empty script with some toplists to start you off, once the traffic is flowing post here asking for hardlink traders & people who want PAs. Maybe even buy some traffic to it or get yourself in the linkdumps.

I think too many people jump into TGP without understanding the basics, this isn't a dig at you - it's cool that you're eager to learn, it's just better to gain the knowledge of how the popular tgps work, rather than pumping a load of cash into a script and expecting a ton of long lasting, amazing traffic. You want a long term biz, not a short-term wonder.

Some people think that if they buy the same script as Shemp, RR, or any other TGP that they'll have the same sucesses. It's totally not like that at all. The market is pretty saturated, if you want to stand out you've really gotta do the ground work, rather than diving in there armed with a few scripts and hoping for the best.
