    Oasis Are Dumb LOL !!!!

You can clearly hear them in the video more than once offering people a refund on their tickets, then they get pissed when people actually ask for the refund.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/m...er/8110671.stm

Noel Gallagher has criticised the 20,000 fans who asked for their money back after his band's homecoming gig was marred by technical problems.

The Oasis guitarist called them "cheeky", and wrote of his surprise that so many took him up on his offer of a refund after the Heaton Park show.

The band twice had to leave the stage in Manchester because of a power fault.

In his blog, Gallagher wrote: "So you were genuinely disappointed? There wasn't a 20,000 gap in the crowd."

    'Let's have it'

Fans had paid £45 for tickets to see Oasis perform in Manchester earlier this month for the first time in four years.

The technical problems resulted in the show being disrupted for half an hour.

About 70,000 people saw Oasis abandon the opening track, only to return and be driven off the stage once more when the band tried a second song.

At the end of gig, Noel said: "Thank you very very much, this is a free gig - let's have it.

"Anybody who has kept their ticket will get a full refund."

If every fan asked for their money back it would cost £3m to refund them all.

Organisers had been planning for the gig for six months and said the event was the biggest at Heaton Park since the Pope's visit in 1982.

What did the expect the crowd to do ?

He was just being polite and probably joking. The fans are cunts, but then it was in Manchester so its not a surprise.

At the end of the day they missed 30 mins of the whole show, hardly a big deal.

And sortie you couldnt even give away a free tube script and you are calling Noel Gallagher dumb.

One quick way to tell who is a shit webmaster is to see who is critical of me.
Usually I have busted their ass in the past about something and they still haven't
                gotten over it.

I always deliver code on time and never scam and some scammers are jealous of

I gave away so many copies that I couldn't do support so I stopped giving it away

You should ask some of the people who bought it what they think of it.
In particular you should ask those that bought between 10 and 30 licenses.

You have picked up on some jealous talk from some wanna be programmers on the
board and have taken that for truth. That just makes you the dumb mother fucker

                    No, you can't.

Pretty much the flag wavers for the Cool Britania era of British pop culture. You don't have to like them to know that was the case. Also, arguably, the last 'rock' stars to have come out of the country in behaviour and attitude. I am not even really that much of a fan - but I do like some songs - but to deny their influence in 90's UK would be a lie.

                                                      £45 is alot of money.

I'm surprised only 20,000 asked for their money back after being told it was a free show. I would expect closer to 80% if not more.

Thanks, CD. I recall a few marginally interesting songs hitting the airwaves stateside, but as far as actual musical influence, I'd say minimal. I've heard more folks cite Jarvis Cocker and Pulp as influential from 90s Brit pop than either of the Gallagher. From a popular culture standpoint, I'd have to say Blur wins for airwave saturation, though.

Yup, like i said he did repeat it more than once. If he had just said "fuck it this is free now" people would just have laughed and thought "yeah i wish". But he kept saying that it's NOW a free show, and gave everyone the thumbs up and said about people keeping their ticket stub.

So again, it's no surprise AT ALL that people actually took them up on the offer...

They definitely did fly on behaviour and attitude, I'll give you that. Takes more than that to actually be as big as they claimed they would be though.

And offering people a refund and then thowing a trantrum when they accept it is the mark of a true shithead premadonna. Want the money then deliver a quality performance or set a second date and honor people's tickets from the first show.
I remember it on both sides of the Atlantic largely because they were 'taking off' just as I was leaving the States. When I moved to the UK, I knew Wonderwall and Supernova and I owned that album but that was pretty much all. Then I moved here and they were like rock gods here. Look up (if anybody can be bothered) the 'great Blur vs Oasis battle'...it shows up on nearly every 'remember when' show here.

One of the problems they had with launching themselves in the States was that Liam pretty much messed up every promo push. I can remember before I left the States watching their big MTV launch in the States only to find Liam didn't show up and Noel had to sing his bits. I thought he sang them better, if I am honest.

All of which, doesn't mean they weren't a huge influence in the music *industry* around that period. True, that is especially the case in the UK but it wasn't claimed that they weren't an influence in the States it was claimed they weren't at all. The British music industry in that period of the 90's - with Brit Pop and the Madchester scene - was a very big scene. I would say that that has pretty much died here now. Bands don't rule the media any more but them combined with the Spice Girls did in that period.

This is an interesting period for me because my awareness of the UK was still that of a person new to the culture. They were at their height just before and after the Spice Girls started to make it into the culture. The Spice Girls were my first experience with a UK pop culture penomenon. They appeared on their first tv show about two weeks after I moved here and I remember watching it. Then, I watched them creep into daily conversations.

Their music sucked but they still influenced British pop culture. I would go as far as to say that if you wanted to define British 'cool Britania' 90's by two music acts it would be the Spice Girls and Oasis. Which just, again, shows you don't have to be as good as you claim to have had influence.
