I woke up about an hour ago, slipped on some shorts and a jersey to run down stairs and make some coffee. I was having a smoke in the garage while the coffee was brewing. I go to the kitchen to pour myself a cup as I feel like someone is putting out a cigarette on my left side of my abdomen. I lift my shirt up and there is a 3 inch long scorpion. I screamed like a little girl and tried to flick it off. I think it only got me once and I killed it.
I looked online and it's a bark scorpion (the worst) but really not a whole lot I can do, compress the sting with some ice and take an aspirin, and pretty much be ready for a 20 - 30 hour ride of dizziness, numbness and aggravation.
What a way to start the week..

to everyone though. Scorpions are arachnids, not insects. Also, taxonomically, within the Class Insecta which insects are members of [Spiders and Scorpions are in the Class Arachnida] there is an Order named Hemiptera which contains those insects called "True Bugs". I hope that serves as a bit of a disambiguation.
