Just posted, but you can sell them at a pretty good profit if you can get them back. As I said, a box of them is dirt cheap over there. My friend got me a box for something like 25 or 30 dollars last time he was there.
I was in the tobacconist business for almost 6 years, and pretty much had the opportunity to try just about everything on the market. Although, that was about 7 years ago, I still have a few a month. I prefer a pretty med-full to full bodied smoke....some of my favorites are:
Tatuaje
Ashton VSG
Padone 64'
H.Upamnn Sir Winston
Simon Bolivar Belicoso fino
Davidhoff is my brand.. cigars, cognac..you name it.
Think the Romeo is over rated.. but cohiba is nice..
Never have tried the Opus X.. but from the sound of it, one will be tested soon.

Darth, if you're in Greece, its very likely you've never had an Opus X or a Diamond Crown Maximus. Most people who make the cuban only statement haven't really been around the block. Sort of like wine people that say "only bordeaux"
Also, I was talking about the Cuban Partagas, not the dominican one.
I've smoked boxes of cuban sancho panza, cohiba, partagas, Hoyo de Monterrey, Romeo y Julieta, and others.
My opinion is based on experience.
What the heck to you mean "If you are based in Greece, its very likely you've never had an Opus X or a Diamond Crown Maximus...." ????
First of all I am in Greece right now, it doesn't mean i spent all my life here. I've lived in the USA for 4 years, Canada 2 years, France 2 years, Costa Rica 1 year and I traveled to more fucking countries than i can list here.
Secondly Diamond Crown Maximus are available in most big cigar shops in Europe, although I have to admit that they are usually hard to come by.
Thirdly, you asked us to post our presonal favorites and then you bash me for saying I like Cubans only?
Anyway ... my opinion is based on stuff i tried and only that.
Thats all a matter of opinion. I'm smart enough not to make that kind of sweeping statement. One of the best cigars I've ever had was a Partagas Lusitania while I was in bermuda. I've also smoked thru many boxes of cuban cigars.
two questions.
where do you buy your cubans and have you ever had an OpusX?
Black market, from cubans. 60-70$ abox of 25 Cohiba Esplendidos.
No, I didn't try OpusX, but I will look after some, if you recommend them. I hope those cubans have.
Definitely only a matter of opinion. I was just exposing mine... does that make me not smart?
Davidoff robusto # 2 is my favourite , also like Bolivar - not so famouse but very smooth.
The greatest taste is any davidoff made before 1985 - The davidoff was the only not-Cuba-based company allowed to produce the cigars in the land of Fidel. These are very expensive cigars
Also if you (US guys) are ever interested in Cohibas just let me know - we have a stable supply here right from the Cuba custom office....

Garth, I'm not sure where you're imagining the Bash from. you implied that I hadn't smoked cubans, I correctly guessed you've never had two of the best non-cubans on the market.
tit for tat, nothing more:

By the way: 12clicks: Partagas is a Cuban brand. They just have the dominican sister company to produce cigars with the same name that they can sell to the USA and take advantage of the brand name. Its no suprice you liked their Dominican stuff, even that is much better than some of the USA brands, but when you try the Cubans you will see what the big deal is.

I'm not a dinosaur, I'm a crocodile. I've seen dinosaurs come and go and I'm left unimpressed.

Dude, you'd love an Opus. Nice oily wrapper, strong cigar.

I prefer a smaller cigar like the Royal Jamacian Pirates or Buccaneers.
Great for boat fishing trips with they guys. Easier to light in the wind too.
I prefer larger cigars only because you burn the small ones down too quickly and once small, they burn too hot. Although, I'd agree, the small once need less time, planning, and attention.

I can't claim to be an expert, but a few times a year at balls and stuff a few of the boys crack out some nice gars. I have had several types, including Partagas, Cohiba, Montecristo, Romeo y Julieta and Davidoffs that I remember.
I think I liked the lighter flovoured ones in general. I think my favourites were: Davidoff, Romeo and Montecristo brands.
A nice cigar with brandy, whisky or a good wine is great!!!
In that case then say around Christmass time please send gift Box to:
RAM
Po Box 563
Jerome AZ 86331
I will be returning to Jerome on Dec 10th so anytime after that is Perfect
Thank you so much
haha, you queer. No boxes for you. I actually don't know if I have any boxes I'd part with. The only one I can think of is an unopened box of Ashton VSG Sorcerers. They're about 6yrs old and probably ready to smoke but I've had too many VSGs that had a chemical taste to them and have kinda lost my interest in them.
some people love 'em though.

The Opus is definitely worth a try. No doubt it's a great smoke....a little over hyped, but great, nonetheless.
I hate to be a wet blanket one your Cohiba experience, but if you bought a box of 25 Esplendidos for $70. a box....you bought counterfeits. A good price for Esplendidos is more in the area of $650/$700.
Now.....that's not to say you were totally ripped off. Because, at the end of the day, you ended up buying a box of large cigars, the you apparently enjoy smoking, and only paid $70. And they most likely are Cuban tobacco.....just not the Cohiba blend and construction....

You obviously missed the part with the black market, directly from cuban immigrants.
It's Costa Rica here, they smuggle cuban cigars and sell them on the black market, not taxes, nada.
The price is indeed in the range of 700-800$, I saw it online, but that's because of the huge tobacco taxes, has very few to do with the quality.
Anyway, even they were counterfeits in the original sealed box, they were good enough to trick many webmasters at CRBash2006, me included. Come over at CRBash 2007, and I will treat you with some.
