Think bing is the reason google is making these changes? I mean sure bing isn't going to take google at #1 but I am sure google has seen a decrease since the launch of bing. I mean even if only 1 in every 1,000 searchers switched their homepage to bing, that's a big chunk overall. I sure have been watching my bing traffic rise, I can only assume those surfers came from using google originally.
Doesn't make much sense but what really would google have against ST sites as a whole? Seems like one of the more drastic changes google has made, effecting adult webmasters anyway, and it comes shortly after the launch of bing. Sites using smart thumbs are obviously being penalized for something. It's not just the niche keywords that the sites are dropping for, they are also dropping for when someone searches for the domain name, and that is fucked up.
Someone needs to figure this shit out because switching thumb scripts would be a big pain in the ass to do to say the least.Comment

* Do not fill your website with keywords (keyword spamming) ( no title and alt tag anymore ? )
*If your website is participating in an affiliate program make sure your website provides good relevant content for the user in mind and not just a doorway page ( like st.php ? )
*Dont exchange links with other websites ( those automated link trading and thunderballs are probably next or part of the problem )
*Try to avoid linking to spammy websites and ?Bad neighbourhoods?
-* Dont have web pages that have hidden programs as phishing, viruses, trojans or other badware ( i noticed if you had or linked to traffic holder or sites that do mcassfe antivirus has been giving virus errors for a bit )
* Make sure your website loads in a reasonable speed, check your server isn?t over loaded ( too many thumbs ?)
* Dont advertise the fact that you sell links on your website ( big no no ) ...
* It's googles search engine
so maybe they just figured you did most of the above if you ran ST an easy way to pluck out sites and make an example

yup sure enough my 2 ST sites dropped back 6 pages when they were good keywords
Funny thing is overall on one term i'm not lossing all traffic cause the first page of that term is full of my non ST free sites that link to this site so I am still getting SE for that term just not to the site i intended

The people posting drops should clarify if you are using Free or Paid.
If your using Free and have seen a drop then obviously thats the problem.
But,
If your using the Paid version and have been dropped aswell. then obviously it's the script.

Possible theory on seeing what replaced me... (an ST site is still ranked for teen tgp)...
The sites in question are not requiring recips with the terms I was ranked for... So TeenTiger is asking for Teen Tiger TGP...
I am asking specifically for Teen TGP.
I am thinking maybe we all were asking for terms and google did something that saw all of those links from the galleries as bad...
Possibly it is because I have 20,000 such links but only 30 or so from any other sites index page. So perhaps good is now taking this into consideration...
Then again... doesn't seem to be effecting Comus or anyone else...Comment

It actually wouldn't surprise me at all if Google started penalizing trade scripts at some point. Circle jerking surfers to boost traffic doesn't really seem to fit their philosophy of creating the best content for surfers. this is interesting. seems to be a variation of the 950 penalty. maybe they just stopped moving the page to the back and to somewhere where the webmaster is likely to find it and fix it... since other pages didn't actually end up as the 950th result.
i have the free version on a lot of domains that we used to just make live until we are ready to use the domains. i am not a tgp guy and don't run tgps.
one interesting thing i see is that some domains have ZERO text and zero outbound links (besides images linking to galleries and the smart thumbs link) and are penalized. so.. that tells me that all the usual "over-optimization" issues as the cause is not whats going on.
i'm not interested enough to dig into this but i can say with authority that tgp sites and link directories are essentially spam sites/link farms. by that i mean simply that you can't really tell me what the difference is between the average auto-generated page of 2000 and the 50 smart thumbs sites you can set up in an afternoon. tgps add the ridiculousness of blind links etc which also don't provide the best user experience. they are both essentially the same from a search engine standpoint and separated only by the quality of hard links linking in.
not clue why this seems to be happening with so many ST sites ... but i can say with absolute certainty that the typical tgp is doomed regardless. if not today... then next month, next year or whenever. they simply aren't the best result for any phrase other than "Keyword Pic's", "Keyword Photos" etc. and that fact will ultimately be reflected in search results. its just a matter of time.Last edited by Pleasurepays; 06-19-2009, 07:15 PM.Comment

ya this is what i do on my 13 out of 15 tgps and sorts but all those sites are non skim sites and these 2 new sites i wanted to do skim sites so i went with ST
and for the record both my 2 are under 2 mos old and had the number 1 spots for the titles of the sites and neither sites accepted submits and were all just fhgs and galleries i made up and they are both listed on page 6 of google nowComment
