    The Iran election tweets are making Twitter interesting

    This is the first time I think that I have seen Twitter actually earning its new found status in the internet community. If you are on Twitter and have any interest in world events check out the #iranelection tweet page.

    I may even go as far as saying this might actually 'make' Twitter globally as a real tool rather than just celebrity following.

      I read yesterday that students and admin at the University of Toronto were the ones responsible for setting up proxy servers to keep things going in Iran.

          I hate twitter, this makes it a little more interesting but still. Mark my word no one will be talking about twitter in a year or so.

              Well, if for the moment it is allowing such voices to get out I could care less if people are talking about it a year from now. Today it is very interesting to listen to voices we very rarely hear.

                      No offence, but you are waaay off. Twitter will be bigger than ever in a year or so. Anyone who doesn't think so doesnt know twitter. It's real-time public email/im bookmarked for future reference in 365 days.

                              And it being the voice of this will only make it more likely it will stick around. It actually became a news source rather than just a vanity project.
