    Which do you think would get the most amount of clicks.. A top list on the right or left side of a site?

    Assuming it's just two column site.. Top list on one side and content on the other.
    In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.

      Most of the western world reads from the left to the right. Left gets most traffic. Its up to you if you want that going to trades or sponsors.

          Yes but I wonder if people have trained themselves to ignore menus on the left side of a site. The same way people ignore ad's, banner and so on.

                                                      People ignore the right column as it's been used for years by many popular sites for ads , and expect navigation in the left side I find if it's not across the top.

                                                                  Studies have shown that right side is the best place for what you want clicked most . So I guess if you want more clicks going to your toplist then put it on the right.

                                                                              actually, the print industry charges more for ads on the right top side of the publication, because the human eye is automatically drawn to it.

                                                                                      It works well if you put the promos in a column between the main content and the navigation column. Right probably better than left, but either way the surfer can't ignore them...

                                                                                                      Well I tested it on one of my sites that has some pretty high quality traffic.. So it's surfers that look at what they are clicking. I moved my top list from the left to the right side to see if I could pull more clicks there.

                                                                                                      The first hour looked promising, because I pulled 20% more clicks on that top list from the hour before. Then after that it was less clicks by about 10% of what I normally get.

                                                                                                      So I'll have to say that the left side at least on my site gets more clicks.

                                                                                                          Interesting. How long did you let it run, crockett? Also, do you have a 3 col layout or just 2 cols?
                                                                                                          SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.
