Am I STRANGE for finding the act of doing...

...LAUNDRY to be relaxing and enjoyable?

Call me a "nerd," a "loser," or "boring" for spending my Tuesday evening at home alone doing several loads, but I havent felt as relaxed and at peace in a couple of weeks as I do now

Yes, Im serious! Washing, drying, ironing, folding - I love doing it all.

Anyone else agree or do you all think Im peculiar? You can be honest, it wont hurt my feelings...

Well...you aren't strange, I like cleaning the kitchen actually, but hey do you want to come and do my laundry and I'll clean you kitchen? I think it's an even swap. I hate folding it too btw...

lol... i have no shame. mine doesn't either... just mops and dusts... I was actually thinking of posting an ad on CL to offer $200 a week (plus my presence drinking my bud) to clean everything and do the laundry

I love cleaning my house, I go nuts if there's dirt. Even small things like if someone puts their hand prints on my wall drives me nuts. I'm like a forensic cleaner making sure there's no dust, hairs lying around.

I have a maid for cleaning and laundry.
My woman has her hands full cooking me awesome food day in day out.
I can not jeopardize that by having her do my laundry and cleaning too.
She would be too busy.

My girlfriend likes doing my laundry too. She says it gives her a feeling of accomplishment. But she doesn't fold socks.

So she has me trained - I leave my clothes on a pile on the floor (like every man), and when she comes over she dutifully does all my laundry and when she leaves in the morning I have my dresser full of nice clean clothes. I just have to match up the socks.

I am a full time single dad and I cannot stand doing laundry. I have a maid that stops by once a week and cleans but doesn't do the laundry. Instead I use a local service that picks up my laundry and drops off twice a week. It ends up being a lot cheaper that way and any dry cleaning is included which is sweet!

I have painful childhood memories of the weekly trip to the laundromat while our washing machine was broken. I had to go along to help carry everything. By that stage of the week I'd be down to some really embarrassing track pants and something similarly daggy for my top... hoping no one I knew saw me...

Now I'm an adult I'm the king of *shuffling through dirty clothes basket* "hmmm, this looks good for tomorrow, I'll wash it now"
