In the earliest days of this biz, I remember shaving being discussed a lot, lot more than it is these days. Back then, it seems affiliates were much more likely to accuse a sponsor of shaving... especially if they only thought or suspected the traffic they were sending should have been producing more sales.

I suppose CCBill and NATS have gone some distance in providing more trust so that shaving suspicions are not as likely to be raised. And also, the biz has matured, and with this maturation the notion may have evolved that most "everyone who is anyone", and who is in this business now is above that sort of tactic.

But, I don't know. There are far worse crimes committed that have little if any consequences. The rewards of a sophisticated shaving program might make it wothwhile. So, I think it would be a mistake if those of us who are affiliates were not vigilant about shaving possibilities. Seems to me that webcam programs could easily shave the most and most often... there aren't many of them that use CCBill or NATS. It's all based on the info that they choose to report.
