i guess it all depends on your mindset about cars. i have an 83 monte carlo that i love, the seats are mint, no rips no wear, nothing. i won't be having any dogs in that car any time soon.
you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..

      Easy to clean.
With heat in the seats for winter and aircondition etc in the car for summer, its no problem

This is a rant I totally connect with. I have leather seats because it only came with leather, but I have often wondered the same.

The only benefit I see if that they don't get as dirty. If you spill something on them, or leave the window open and it rains, they do not act like sponges.

Other than that though, they just look better. Some leather is more comfortable than others, but for the most part, cloth is better IMO.

I'd let my dog in a Ferarri. Just a car. Meant to be driven and used.

I'm not a big fan of leather seats either...
              I'm just a newbie.

I'll no longer get leather seats but I never had a problem w/ them in the extreme conditions. Just get heated seats. Not that expensive.

When I ordered my new car, I specifically requested cloth seats.

I personally like them better too. I've sat in some nice leather seats, but to me - I like the plush soft feeling of good quality cloth seats.
