Any Cigar guys in the house?

List you favorites, maybe tell a story......

I'm a big fan of OpusX, Diamond Crown Maximus, and to a lesser extent Padron Anniversary.
I'm lucky enough to have a supplier for the Opus. Same store will only sell the Maximus by the box. Kinda odd but causes them to always be in stock cause few people are going to lay down the coin for a whole box.

I also have a good friend across the street who spends time lighting up on my patio and drinking wine. He's into cigars even more so than I am.
Thru him I've had some other great smokes such as Fuente untold story, Fuente AƱejo, oh, and we each have a good handful of OpusX A

I'm thinking of cigars tonight because with winter coming, there won't be as much opportunity to light up
I'm not a dinosaur, I'm a crocodile. I've seen dinosaurs come and go and I'm left unimpressed.

haha, nice story on the wife.
Mojo is a big fan of Punch. I've smoked a few. like 'em. just have more cigars than opportunities to smoke 'em.

When I'm really hammered I like to smoke Old Ports. Can you believe they actually dip them in wine? And the plastic tip is a nice touch.

Old Ports, when only the best will do.

I think Cohibas are over rated. I like the Romeo & Julieta quite a lot.

seriously, I'm a cigar lover (not like Lewinsky) from way back. Last night I torched a arturo fuente anejo and a carlos torano reserva.

Always down for a good cigar. Overall my fave would be a cuaba diademos, with ashton VSG and the zino platinum scepter chubby as runners-up.... Lately I've been on a double perfecto kick, By far, my favorite vitola.

Anyone one on here do cigar passes?

I smoke but lately I've preferred the pipe instead, it's cheaper to get the tobacco and just refill it instead of disposing of the cigar (relighting a cigar causes it to lose the oils)

Ycaza and Mike Hawk got me into Monte Cristo #2s and Partagas, series D #4s. They're fantastic. I really like Cohiba Siglos IVs and have a box in my humidor.

When I'm in the US, I get CAOs just because I like the taste and smell. Ya, they're not cubans and they're not as high quality...but damn they're good.

everyone knows that i am a cigar man. La Gloria Cubana's R Series #6's are my personal favorite, and any fuente sun grown crop is good. also the Gurkha's are nice too !

I usually smoke Romeo y Julietas coronas when I'm in the mood, usually the beach... When I'm really in the mood I'll pick up a Partagas which just knocks me on my ass...

Sorry, I don't know the models or numbers, I just buy based on budget and craving and smoke for fun.

One of the best cigars I've ever had was a Partagas Lusitania while I was in bermuda. I've also smoked thru many boxes of cuban cigars.

I tried not to post in this thread because I didn't want to say anything like "Lift the fucking embargo from Cuba in order to smoke some REAL cigars" or something along those lines ... but some of the posts forced me to do it...

                                                                                Here goes:

I am a cigar smoker and after trying all sorts of stuff I can confidently say that ... if it aint Cuban ... it usually is not worth it. I am not saying that it isn't possible that a good non-Cuban cigar exists; I am just saying that I never found one so far.

                                                                                My personal favorites:
                                                                                1) Romeo & Juliet - Number 3
                                                                                2) Montechristo - Number 3
                                                                                3) Partagas - Number 3

Cohibas are nice but the taste is a bit too strong for me so I prefer the ones above.

By the way: 12clicks: Partagas is a Cuban brand. They just have the dominican sister company to produce cigars with the same name that they can sell to the USA and take advantage of the brand name. Its no suprice you liked their Dominican stuff, even that is much better than some of the USA brands, but when you try the Cubans you will see what the big deal is.

Another thing ... the term expensive cigar is relative. I was in a club in Toronto once and they were selling some crap Dominican cigars something like $100 a piece. The locals were buying them in order to show off that they are smoking $100 dollar cigars. I found that amusing because for $100 i can buy a box of 25 Cuban Romeo & Juliets here at home.

                                                                                          Here goes:

I am a cigar smoker and after trying all sorts of stuff I can confidently say that ... if it aint Cuban ... it usually is not worth it. I am not saying that it isn't possible that a good non-Cuban cigar exists; I am just saying that I never found one so far.

                                                                                          My personal favorites:
                                                                                          1) Romeo & Juliet - Number 3
                                                                                          2) Montechristo - Number 3
                                                                                          3) Partagas - Number 3

Cohibas are nice but the taste is a bit too strong for me so I prefer the ones above.

By the way: 12clicks: Partagas is a Cuban brand. They just have the dominican sister company to produce cigars with the same name that they can sell to the USA and take advantage of the brand name. Its no suprice you liked their Dominican stuff, even that is much better than some of the USA brands, but when you try the Cubans you will see what the big deal is.
Darth, if you're in Greece, its very likely you've never had an Opus X or a Diamond Crown Maximus. Most people who make the cuban only statement haven't really been around the block. Sort of like wine people that say "only bordeaux"

Also, I was talking about the Cuban Partagas, not the dominican one.

I've smoked boxes of cuban sancho panza, cohiba, partagas, Hoyo de Monterrey, Romeo y Julieta, and others.

My opinion is based on experience.
I'm not a dinosaur, I'm a crocodile. I've seen dinosaurs come and go and I'm left unimpressed.
