What wireless router would you recommend?

Need a new one my dlink 524 isn't cutting it anymore dropping connections all the time.

These new "N" routers any good?

no linksys had way to many bad experiences with this..

There was a similar thread on another board recently and most posters recomended going with D-link. I just bought myself the DIR-655 and so far no problems.

I have that one. N is for faster speeds. I do not remember what the other caps off at, but if you are using high speed (like cable) you want the faster modem.

I had the Linksys router above and it wasn't as good as previous Linksys routers that I've had, it seemed to cut out a lot on me, which was pretty frustrating, so I went with a D-Link DGL-4500 and I LOVE it, it's great router and it has a better range than the Linksys, now the kids don't complain about low signals on their 360s, ha ha. It sells for $150 most places like Amazon

Try flashing the firmware on your d-link with dd-wrt (if your dlink is a supported router). Using the firmware at home on a few linksys routers and it works well.

DLink DIR 655 Kicks ass. I have the Linksys 310N as well. Kept dropping the wireless over and over all day long. My main work machine is hooked up ethernet, but after 2 months of wife and kids complaining and me wasting time researching and trying to figure out why it kept dropping the wireless network...I went and bought the DIR 655 and no more dropouts. Great range too. My house is a two story over 5,000 sq. foot home. I can surf from the front yard all the way back to the casita by the pool in the backyard where I have my office.

I am using this ZyXEL Wireless Router, it is Great router!!!! The bandwidth i get on the wireless compares to some direct connections. Three antennas do their job, and do it well!!The firewall built in is a plus. The wizard makes it easy to setup for beginners. Never buying a netgear or linksys again.
