Sadly this is something that NONE of us should argue over as MANY MEN FROM MANY Nations died that day.
Everyone mentions the Americans and the Brits, even the Free French that participated in Operation Overlord, but I really feel the Canadians don't get their due. From what I read they faced the toughest shore defenses in their sector and suffered the highest casualties (percentage wise) of any of the allies. If anyone should be getting a big thank you, it's those goofy Canucks since it really wasn't their fight. We were already in it when the Japanese attacked us and the Germans started sinking our convoy escorts, but the Canadians could have sat that one out and opted not to.
