again... there is no need to prove your ignorance.. we've been there and done that.
what "law" did he break?
according to what he wrote, he didn't break any law. you are ASSUMING there was some physical confrontation and that he got physical and that he got physical with her and cant seem to understand that he didn't say that... and if he did "break a law" he would have been arrested for that.
jesus... do we need to break out the anatomically correct doll so you can show us where the bad man touched you?Comment

I suspect there's more to the story, which there is about 99% of the time in domestic situations. Why was she being all dramatic on the phone in the first place, did something happen between you two? Sounds like you took the phone away from her because you didn't want her telling her friends something.Last edited by lazycash; 10-11-2006, 08:36 PM."WTF, on google you can find the answer to every question in human history, EXCEPT how to convert cams..

You act like he was a stranger walking down the street who ran up to some girl and stole her phone. There is a big difference when you're in a relationship. My gf takes my hat all the time and runs off and keeps it from me. So if we're arguing at the time she does that it instantly makes it breaking the law?
Seriously though, it seems clear that the chick was too out of control to handle a phone at the time anyway. (assuming the story is 100% accurate and she did falsly call the cops for assistance)

Yes, if you wanted to be a drama queen and call 911 over it claiming a law has been broken. I lived with my sister briefly during university and we fought all the time. The landlord called the cops one time because of all the noise. They came, literally dragged me out of the apartment and threw me in the backseat of the cruiser. Thankfully my sister had tried to beat the shit out of me, I had cuts and finger nail scrapes all over my neck and arms and she didn't have a bruise anywhere. I was totally on the defensive the whole time. So after about 2 hours of telling them that she is the fucking lunatic who was trying to beat me, they let me go.
They told me that 99% of the time when they see a big dude and "little" woman they automatically assume he beat her. I thanked them for treating me so nicely and not jumping to conclusions, (they didn't like my sarcasm but they're the dicks in the first place.)
Anyhow, your girlfriend was stupid for calling the cops.Comment

Surely you're not implying that its an arrestable offense for grabbing a friends phone only to return it several minutes later? Its prickish, I certainly wouldn't do it or tolerate it, but an arrestable offense? Please.Vacares - Web Hosting, Domains, O365, Security & More - Paxum and BTC Accepted

Theft is theft. And if it was grabbed forcibly, then it could also be assault. Just because it's a friend or a girlfriend doesn't make it legal. If you walk into a store, grab something off the shelf without paying and then return it 10 minutes later, it's still theft. And it becomes an arrestable offense when someone calls the police.
I'm not saying it's right or wrong. I'm just getting technical. The law is the law.

ok... i dont know why you people are so thick. you are basically saying that if you and some other guy are making out on the couch and he is holding a phone in his hand ... then you snatch that phone from his hand that a law was broken. thats absurd... but i am sure you have no troubles citing the specific laws and the maximum penalties for such an offense.
if i agree with you both, will you promise not to breed?
it would be a win/win sitaution for everyone.Last edited by Pleasurepays; 10-11-2006, 08:59 PM.Comment

First it's a phone call to the cops over nothing, next she freaks out and scolds your face with an iron for no reason, then stabs you and apologizes for "overreacting".

No. I'm just saying that if you get technical, the exact scenario described is theft.ok... i dont know why you people are so thick. you are basically saying that if you and some other guy are making out on the couch and he is holding a phone in his hand ... then you snatch that phone from his hand that a law was broken. thats absurd... but i am sure you have no troubles citing the specific laws and the maximum penalties for such an offense.

My personal opinion? The girl is a nutjob and the OP should dump her. Calling the cops for something so minimal is absurd. Though I don't think the OP is an angel either, I think it's retarded that he had to spend a night in prison because his girlfriend is a cunt.

Wrong. You missed the key word "Fiancé". If you're just taking what I said out of context and arguing against it (much like I've been doing), then sure, you're right. I should have stated and not implied that I'm talking about taking something you don't have the right to take.
Again, I'm not justifying his or her actions. I'm just stating what the law is.

I never said you were arrested for theft. I'm just arguing stuff out of context because I'm in an arguing mood. All I'm saying is that technically, by the letter of the law, taking her phone was theft. But that's completely seperate from the rest of the story.Dude you guys are dumb, I did not get arrested for theft, I even told them I took her phone and they did not give a crap about that. You don't have to break up to co-own everything. Show me the law that says you can't take your fiance's phone. Seriously.. Just because you can't pocket a phone from the local cellphone store and bring it back 5 minutes later DOESN'T mean you can't take your fiance's phone. It also doesn't mean you can't confiscate a toy bought with your 16 year olds own money and all sort of other things.Last edited by bhutocracy; 10-11-2006, 10:09 PM.Comment

are you also technically autistic?
do you understand what stealing is?
you are saying that he stole her phone.
stealing her phone is when he takes her phone and does not return it to her... i.e. he takes it with the intent to deprive her of it forever and refuses to return it or denys that he knows where it is.
wow.
technically, you are not very bright.

Walk into a store. Take something off the rack. Walk out without paying. Walk back in 10 minutes later to return it and see what they say.
If you're confident in your stance, instead of resorting to childish insults, just prove me wrong.
I'm not sure what the law is in California, but I doubt it's radically different from Canadian law. This is from the Canadian Criminal Code:
322. (1) Every one commits theft who fraudulently and without colour of right takes, or fraudulently and without colour of right converts to his use or to the use of another person, anything, whether animate or inanimate, with intent
(a) to deprive, temporarily or absolutely, the owner of it, or a person who has a special property or interest in it, of the thing or of his property or interest in it;

Ready for the punchline? You're probably going to jail.
In California, if a woman accuses you of domestic violence, she is NOT ALLOWED TO CHANGE HER MIND. The county is then in charge of the proceedings, and THEY WILL NOT STOP THE PROSECUTION IF SHE WILL NOT TESTIFY.
You are in VERY serious danger. Men are guilty until proven innocent in CA. I had a friend who was routinely beat up by his girlfriend. One day she kicked him down the stairs from the attic, and he finally had enough of it. I was there at the time, and let me tell you -- she was CRAZY and out of control, hitting, scratching, biting, it was nuts, and came out of NOWHERE. He called the cops, and they told him "you're bigger, you can defend youself." She then got the idea, called them back, and was like, "oh no, HE beat ME!" The cops took him to jail, he made bail about a week later (they refused to set it at the time).
We thought everything was cool .. but at the trial, where she DID NOT TESTIFY (and pleaded with the DA not to prosecute), he was convicted. This was ... 2000? He's still in jail. Remember: this was about the incident of THAT DAY, no others, and I was a WITNESS to it, I testified AT HIS TRIAL, and he was convicted.
Watch your back, my friend.Comment

It's amazing how you're going to shrug this off like nothing. If she called the cops for no reason, got you arrested, she should be out the door. I'm sorry man, but if you have any money, you'd get out of that relationship as fast as you can. She just figured out how she can get you by the balls anytime she wants. The next time probably won't be as easy as this.Comment
-
Oh shit. You had to get BAILED out? That means you were booked, processed, and are awaiting a trial, no?
Also, a $20,000 bond? Holy fuck. Are they charging you with FELONIES? Sure sounds like a felony 273.5 violation or something similar. I'd suggest you get a good lawyer on this one. That's going to cost a fucking bundle, too.
Before you say it, the judge/DA/cops WILL NOT CARE if she takes her story back, or ANYTHING like that. They have seen it a thousand times, and DO NOT CARE.Comment

If I ever did something like that to my husband I'd be the one to leave if he didn't divorce me (which I think he should if your case happened to us). I couldn't take that crap from anyone. Watching my mom go back to these guys who beat her up over and over again has taught me a valuable lesson... They won't change. Of course they'll be sorry and embarrased and apologetic right after they did it. Call me pessimistic, but it will happen again.

Every time I read something like this I think "wow, that's fucked up. She shouldn't have called the cops." But then I realize I only read one side of the story and my opinion may change if I hear the other side. So I'll just say I don't know.
And for all you mental midgets (Pleasurepays) that answer opinions with insults, if you need some help I'll be glad to teach you how to not come off as a total retard. You have to realize that when someone disagrees with you, it makes you angry and both of your synapses fire at once, shorting out your mental process and leaving you with only the knee jerk reaction of name calling. I understand that your limited mental capacity is causing you some grief here. It's evident in your replies, so just relax, breathe deep and try to stick to the topic. But take heart, once you get past puberty it gets a little easier.Freepicssex.com - Submit Your Free SitesComment

You know, it all depends on what the argument was actually like and how the grabbing of the phone was done. It could have scared to the point she mentally blacked out and made the call. With only having one side's account and not knowing the history of arguments in your relationship it is impossible to know why she did what she did.Comment
