This has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, and as I type this up I still have tears falling. Hell.. deciding to leave my wife several years back was easier then this.
But all good things must come to a end.
Before its said or thought... No I have not found god or been converted. My decision is based almost 100% on financial reasons. I wont go too far into them because the majority of you, well simply, you just don't need to know. Those close to me know what I have been going through for the last yr. It basically boiled down to this, by going into the office every day I was loosing money. It was taking close to 2/3rds of my income just to make into the office on a daily basis and what was left of my check was never enough to pay my bills, and by not going into the office and working from home a few days each pay period, I was hurting the company and not being fair to my fellow employees who had to come in every day.
I waited it out as long as I could hoping that I would be able to promote into one of the open positions, however unfortunate... majority of the positions were ones I was not qualified to do. And the ones I was qualified for, well, we had applicants who were even more qualified. I cant fault the company for hiring them instead, it was the smart business decision.
This was not a overnight or rash decision. I have been considering this for several months now and with out a doubt, know I did the right thing for myself and my family.
At this time I would like to thank the following people.
1st off, Lensman. I can never thank you enough for the opportunity to work with you, your company and your products. The knowledge and experience I gained from you will help me in every situation I will ever face in life. I am proud to have worked with you and even prouder to be able call you a friend.
Spannow, the man who gave me the call when the job opened up, Thank You. I know we've lost touch a bit over the last few months, but a lot of shit has been running through my mind. I'm not going anywhere, and I'm always down to go out.. anytime.
Rochard... man, have you and I butted heads a lot these last 6 months... just about daily. I don't know what it is, because I truly do like you and when we'd go hang out and do shit outside of the office, your ability to separate work and life never ceased to amaze me and we got along like life long buddies. I appreciate your advice, I will do my best to not let you down. I think that not working for you will actually strengthen our business relationship in this industry. The next shot of Jaeger is on me.
Loryn, fuck.. getting to sit in the same office 8+ hours a day with you, that's like bonus pay. Yatzee, grape juice and useless copies... fun times
Eric, I was always able to go to you and get rock solid advice, you kept me from making a ass of myself many times on the board here, and anyone who's been around long enough knows how well I can do that.
Brumski, Sancho, Willy Fresh, and Chris.... YO, what's for lunch today and I'll meet ya down at the benches.
Please believe, I am going nowhere and will be around this industry for a long... LONG time.
