Speaking of dominant codecs - Google (Youtube), Mozilla, Apple, Wikipedia and DailyMotion are five major internet brands that are supporting the Ogg codec already, which has been released as Theora 1.0 (full public release, not beta).

The train has already left the station.

And if you believe that Wave is merely a social networking app and is not worth your time, then you need to do more research. Also, look carefully at the persons on the Wave development team, they're not slackers in the least.

I don't give a fuck about Wave or their devleopers. And I wasn't bashing HTML 5 or anything. My whole post was more directed at the MS basher for making blanket statements. And usually it hard to get 2 groups to agree on anything let alone more than. look at the whole HD-DVD/blu-ray fight. If they all had agreed to ONE standard it would have hit the market 2 years sooner and an "expensive" blu-ray player would be $99 now and blu-ray movies would be $15 brand new. Since they haven't agreed to a codec that means there are some that obviously against ogg. Now if you know of some secret way to get those people to change their minds maybe you need to be part of the negotiations.
