If you look at the thing properly the guy was simply very, very unlucky. One of those 1-1000 things that you don't expect.
More to the point was England played fucking terribly. As was pointed out, Robinson was probably the best player on the pitch - possibly on either side. The ball literally deciding to jump over his foot doesn't take away from the fact that he played well elsewhere other than one stupid punch rather than catching the ball.
Again though - England were fucking awful. BTW, am I the only one that thinks Rooney is a waste of space at the moment and has been since the start of the world cup?
As for missing Sven...maybe...or more likely that the decision to play a formation dismissed as crap these days by just about every major team didn't help either.
