Nah... I wasn't really talking about the exceptions... I was talking about how the FEDS will swoop in when the state is going to/or has lost. 99% of us lilly white suburbinites don't have a fucking clue how the deck is stacked. From what you said... you obviously know how it plays out. If you see a piece of paper with "The United States of America VS. (your name)" it's time to say your goodbyes. There is no TV show fancy lawyer footwork in Federal Court. The conviction rate is almost as good as the effectiveness of birth control pills.... not good odds.
Crack almost always goes federal since they can basically throw away the key with an amount that any junkie could smoke in a single night. Then there's always the all encompassing conspiracy laws which give the lower guys the most time since they don't have anyone to snitch on. I'm so fucking sick of my taxes going to pay for all that shit. Now, Specter..... that's tax dollars well spent.
