They couldn't do the free video thing right.. youtube did do it right. Now they have to eat humble pie and dilute their stock to the tune of 1.6 billion to fix their mistake. BIG fuckup.
Same thing is happening with social networking.. theyre looking at buying facebook because they fucked up orkut, creating a networking site used almost exclusively by brazilians. Way to go guys. Throw another couple of billion at that.

What was funny was their quote on buying youtube .. "they get the benefit of using all the great google phd engineers!".. youtube got big on their OWN engineers, while google video floundered.
