Thanks for the props, guys. You mentioned being on a budget.
Strongbox is in fact the lowest cost for a single site, by a significant
margin. We think Strongbox is the best over all, of course, but we
can say objectively that we're easiest on the budget.

It's best to buy strongbox and forget about it....I don't even have the online control panel....As long as strongbox does it's job, I don't give a shit about checking who is accessing it and when....

As was mentioned earlier, there is a wealth of information on this board with great
replies about each of the major password protection systems.
I would recommend you check this thread out:
Phantom Frog is the only system that offers a Free Trial which lets you test
drive our Geo-IP Tracking Password Abuse detection feature. That way, you
can make an informed decision based upon first-hand experience.
Our system is based upon the premise of providing 24/7 uninterrupted access
to the legitimate members while blocking out the leechers. This is accomplished
automatically through our Automated Member Support (AMS) feature. When
password abuse is detected, the password is changed. The next time the
valid member trys to login, Frog uses their email address to validate their
identity and issues them a new password directly via email. This strategy
breaks the cycle of password abuse and frees up the webmasters to do more
important work - adding more content and promoting your site to build your
business instead of worrying about password abuse and hackers.
Phantom Frog has been in business for 5 years and has clients who have been
with us the entire time and counting. Feel free to check out the webmaster
testimonials page on our site.

small paysite with no budget, does it really need protection?
YES! no matter how small your site is you need some kind of protection cause even the small sites have fans that try to hack into them and if they get in and post a user/pass on a password board that can make your BW bill become HUGE.. I had a friend who this happened to and I caught it cause it was a old site of mine and he still had my old upsales on and after getting several upsales coming from his paysite in a day i figured something was up lol
small paysite with no budget, does it really need protection?
if you don't protect your members areas you might as well take down the user and password access then! because it alone is not going to do the trick! your members areas might as well be free to view
which is best for a small paysite with no budget, no hope, & a webmaster that smokes dope?
thanks...
try phantomfrogs free trial! thats what I did and found it 10,000 times better then Pennywize, Pennywize was good 10 years ago but not in todays world. I am really surprised they are even around still. I guess they have a brand that people hear and know so they still get customers that do not know better.
When I tested phantom frogs trial against my pennywize
Phantom frog found hundreds of illegal entries that pennywize never even suspected.
That was a long time ago and I could not have been happier with the move!
and my bandwidth bills on the members servers were cut in half
I think you are mistaken about what this thread is about. It has nothing to do with content theft and everything to do with password trading.
Not really man, even the smallest paysites are on torrents. They got there from paying members, or fraud joins not password theft. P/W theft is too much of a hassle and cracking isn't as cool. You can just go get the whole rip now.
