Yes I have empathy for the people he killed and the lives lost during the war, some where even relatives.

Important lessons where learned during that period and out of it also came some very important technological advancements that very well may have never came out or would of been delayed potentially a very long time without the war. Then knowing a good chunk of the ideas, some of the technology, and many of the scientists were acting under his orders for self preservation or ideology.
