if your dog is not very social and doesn't have very much interaction with other dogs/animals then a lot of the vaccines are quite unnecessary since much of what they are being vaccinated for are communicable contagious diseases difficult to contract without contact of another animal.

My last dog that I had lived to be 15 and the only shots he ever got were the ones he got when I first got him when he was 8 weeks old, he was not very social though and was rarely around other dogs. He never had any health problems, other than arthritis in his later years which is common among older dogs of his breed.

Though the dog I have now I keep up to date on all his shots etc. just because he is more of a social dog he gets out quite a bit and it's also a requirement of his insurance policy
