Honestly here is where Adam fucked up and lost a TON of votes he may have otherwise got. He did that Ghastly version of Ring of Fire. I actually was physically ill watching that performance. He lost a very large chunk of the country lovers that may have voted for him after that. Im sure it was still very close though.Comment

Like some people already said, It's always about the 3rd person voted off. If they are similar to one of the top two, than that person will win. The same number of people vote each week so it's a matter of how they shift around, Gokey fans got absorbed by that Kris guy, not the theater guy.

I might be biased because I shot Adam Lambert (full free gallery here if ya wanna check it out), but I've never watched American Idol before and he made it seem interesting. I think it is nice that Adam Lambert and winner Kris Allen are positive about each other and have handled the whole thing in such a classy way, but it seems messed up that Adam Lambert did not win. Supposedly there were ways to "power" vote and some people conjecture that either mega-churches and/or Vegas oddsmakers may have employed autotexters and autodialers and such to swing the vote.

I don't think he should have been on the show at all since he is 27 and has been a singing & acting professional for many years. I'll bet American Idol went to him and not the other way around.Comment

I had never seen a minute of AI ever. I saw some clips of him on the Net, and decided that I had to watch. So I saw the last competition?...with him and the vanilla whitebread guy, and the results show.
Seeing him with Queen was outstanding. As for the show itself, it's not anything I'd watch again. I like a competition to actually be fair, and there is no way that the AI format is that. Nothing that allows for multiple votes should be allowed.~

it won't matter that adam lambert did not win. he will become a superstar and kris, well, he will appeal to whomever he appeals to. Gokey was better than Kris and he's pretty mainstream.
But adam? Well, he will be a superstar. He will be in movies, broadway and will have a voice that cannot be mimicked. His voice is so unique and i guarantee we have not heard the last of him.
he sang mad world like no one's business. if you didn't like his version of ring of fire, well, that's just personal opinion. i thought it was haunting. he nailed every single song he sang, made it his own, except for kara's boundaries, which sucked.
i'm glad for kris, but clearly, this is one year where the winner was mediocre at best.
wait and see. the likes of adam and allison will be around for a long, long time.
