    8 US soldiers killed in Iraq monday

    17 since saturday. And I had to dig this up on a Tampa Bay news website. Why doesn't this make the major news anymore?

    "BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- A series of bombs exploded in rapid succession in a shopping district in a mainly Christian neighborhood of Baghdad on Wednesday, killing 16 people and wounding 87, police said.

    Scattered attacks around Iraq killed five other people, and the U.S. military announced the death of two soldiers - raising the toll of one of the deadliest periods for American troops this year.

    At least 17 troops have been killed in combat since Saturday, including eight U.S. soldiers who died in gunbattles and bomb blasts Monday in Baghdad - the most killed in a single day in the capital since July 2005."

                              media are big corporations. They put priority to those things that sell. War in Iraq is not one of them any more. The avg. person does't give a flying fuck if yesterday were killed 12 instead 4 or 5 instead 0. This is a sad reality, but let's face it.

                                      Sure... it's even more difficult to establish a balance what exactly is happening in Iraq now. A fair number of journalists on the ground in Iraq have been getting vocal over media "slants" of their articles as they report them.

                                      Who knows the truth - tho it's clear torture is alive and kicking, sectarian violence never ceases and the vast majority of the nation want the US out asap. This was a total screwup from day one and riddled with lies and deceit to justify any action which has now resulted in the deaths of around 45000 people (not forgetting the many 1000's more who have been injured).
