okay well i guess I do....

You HAVE NOT spent 3 years developing your own counter. That's bullshit!! It doesn't take 3 years of developement to write the code. And nobody sits in alpha and beta phases for years... "testing" a counter ... so don't try that shit either.

It doesn't look like you've invested much thought into site design and click behavior. And if the graphic in the lower corner of the mainpage is what the counter image looks like... you haven't given a lot of thought to the business model.

So what have you been doing for 3 years?

my guess...talking to your buddies about "maybe creating a counter someday" How far off am i?

Our counter seems to do fine, it took 6 weeks to develop, but needs tweaking and finetuning every time, cause it is never perfect. It also needs to grow, as well as your members' database.
Anybody who thinks it is easy to make a counterprogram is wrong. It might be easy to count a few hits, but give the members a real added value, is different.

(Disclaimer:
Opinions differ, just like *I* think there is a difference between a Flash banner and a banner made in Swish and export as Flash format. A Flash banner might take hours, even a day to design, a Swish banner 10 minutes. I bet any designer will agree with me)

I have 6 Email accounts ... these guys spammed all 6 of them in the past week ...

my cousin does not even have a website, and she got the same "we liked your site ..." email

I am going to go ahead and sign up for their counter ... both the adult and the mainstream ones ... just so I can FACTUALLY say if they are any good or not ....

Yep foxcounter comes from dialerking

I run filters on my emails so I know where spam hails from :D

And yep... got spammed with the pretend "I just visited your website" which I think sucks..... now if someone HAD truly visited my website and had INFORMATION on something that may TRULY BENEFIT OUR SITES... And not be thought of primarily as benefiting THEIR bottom line if they convert another webmaster then I might consider it.

Btw this is NOT an invitation to go to our sites and then spam us with crap... If I get too pissed with crap mails I redirect all the crap at the mail that last pissed us off and will send along something to cripple their mail along with reporting them to their hosts and Isps AND SPONSERS for spamming.

So don't fucking do it!

I also notice limited information on foxcounter website... There definately isn't a privacy "we won't spam your ass" link, which makes me think this is more an email list generator than anything else.

Ps. Wtf is with dialerking using a hotmail address? "Not very business like" is 1st thing I thought of after signing up to the dialer program and later receiving an email back... Obviously since then I have not even started to promoted their sites. To much hassle with Ibill, without looking in the face of possible more trouble and unprofessionalism.

PPs. Still lol'ing @ hearing about 3 years to create a counter and stats program. :D

I was going to use there counter but if that's the smallest banner they have, forget it.

Also I use Nutscape and IE prefer NutScape, went to there page (from the spam I got) and none of the links worked in NutScape.
Sent them a email and they did answer it very fast
with fixed it...Didn't check it, waited for the expert reviewer's on GFY, knew they would be coming.

If they spent 3 years on this counter and never bother to check it with NutScape, hard to believe.

Pissing about the spam or banner? i think the spam thing refers to emails, not board spam as obviously they paid for the space...

Anyway, we would love to hear some feedback on our stats and webmaster area. Our button that appears on a webmasters page, is only 120x60 (we made it smaller in the last 24hours)

the wolf should probably be more stylised.. trace over it in flash and play with it a little to make it a little more 'street' it looks a little out of place.. like it's just been cut out from someone else's cartoon.. roberto kinda fixed it a little by taking the shoulder or whatever it was out.. but it's still unrefined.. especially on the web page.. speaking of which is very information poor.. focus more on the benefits of using your program.. theres not a lot of 'sell'... also use eurostile extended bold (or bold roman or whatever roberto used) instead of the weak serif font you've got currently.. oh and you might want to 'trace' over the ad roberto did in flash to forgo the filesize that comes with a swish generated file....

The font is square ex bt, pretty much the same as eurostyle, available into any corel 9 and up cd near you!
The site needs a lot of work, i agree, and the fox too for a "grafitti" look but i have to pass a "nominal" quote for that ;)
