I got a LinkSys and before I had a D-Link. They both had the same problem. If one computer is doing something, the other doesn?t get solid internet anymore. Very upsetting, I can?t see how this can be a cable modem problem though.

Ok, once I had - it started disconnecting every now and then, upgrated the firmware, works like a charm -

Validus, I had a Linksys for years, and had a few problems. About a year ago, it was acting all funky, would not connect to my internet etc. would disconnnect, reconnect. Drove me nuts.
What I did was a "hard reset". Just push the reset button in for about 30+ seconds and it resets everything to factory defaults. I did that and never had a problem since. It is very reliable. I never have had problems other than that and I have been using the same router for several years.
It's worth a shot before buying new stuff.
If you do decide to buy another one, I have set up d-link wired and wireless routers and they are really simple and reliable, too.Comment
