    My job interview this morning

So I had this job interview this morning. While driving to the interview I realized:

    1) I am late
    2) I didn't bring the employment form they wanted
    3) I drove past the exit on the freeway (was this really accidental?)
    4) I felt and overwhelming desire to turn around drive home.

The company makes cookie cutter websites for veterinarians and chiropractors.

During the interview, I blew off the "progamming test" they had. The tests are always stupid quizzes that has some obfuscated code like main(t,_,a)char *a;{return!0<t?t<3?main(-79,-13,a+main(14,1)} and they want you to notice the missing semicolon and say "Aha! You missed the semicolon therefore you suck! I don't care you make tube site in 3 days from scratch". Make sure to say that with a Hungarian accent.

I need a job but they totaly figured out that I didn't want that job. I was late, forgetful and uninterested because I didn't really want to work there - I just didn't realize it until the end of the interview. Life is too short to be doing what you don't like doing.

Anyone need an awesome PHP progammer? Adult only. Must have fringe benefits and cool parties. No websites for veterinarians or chiropractors.

It's missing more than a semicolon.

I'll offer you a 'does not print the 12 days of Christmas, but will compile':

    Code:
    main(t,_,a)char *a;{return!0<t?t<3?main(-79,-13,a+main(14,1)):1:0;}
Not that it's worth much. Good luck with your search!

Yes I truncated it to post. Good job recognizing it though!! I grabbed it from Wikipedia.

One of their "skill testing questions" was "What does var_dump("10"==10) do? And I just couldn't help but think "Who cares, if this is what qualifies as skill, your company is in trouble".

            You know that's totally true.

About 4 years ago, I took a job selling christmas trees at the local tree lot. It paid a whopping $6 an hour. I didn't do it for the money. They were friends of mine, and they needed some extra help. I only worked about 3 or 4 hours a night, and I picked what days I would be there. Basically, I was volunteering.

I had a great time selling christmas trees. I met lots of really nice people and even got a date with the local newsgirl when she and her crew came to do the obligitory "Christmas tree lot news story that we do every single year".

Too bad the fun jobs don't pay 140k.

As someone who interviews programmers, I can tell when they are unmotivated. I guarantee neither you nor them lost out on anything.

                  Hi John,

I've just had a couple of requests for work, and I passed them on to you based entirely on the merit of your horribly impressive resume.

If you get the work, you owe me the smallest MOD player you can write using only MODOBJ.. and I want a TSR. thumbsup
